Day 143: May 23 - Don't make me go home!

One of our new travel friends put it best in the lobby at checkout when she said, "This is the most depressing thing ever." No one likes to leave vacation, especially when it's been so relaxing and calm.

We left this scene, took our flight home, and arrived at SFO to a very, very cold and windy San Francisco as well as a dead battery in Peter's car. Oh, how I wanted to go back to the beach!

Day 142: May 22 - New travel friends

It takes about three days of vacation and relaxing to settle in, make new friends, and go from relaxing to partying. At least that's what it took for Peter and I.

By the end of our trip, we had hooked up with a group of 11 friends from Denver (who we quickly exchanged email addresses with for house swapping vacations in the future) and a couple from Brooklyn (who we were stupid to not swap info with). Too many tequila shots later, I had a rough end to the first day of being 30, but all in all, it was a great, fun day.

Pictured are Sarah and Billy, who I'm certain I had deep, intellectual conversations with while getting sunburned in the pool. What they were about is long-since lost on me, but I remember enough to know that Sarah and I were certain we were sisters from another mother, and that Sarah learned on this trip to always pack a carry-on, since her luggage was lost.

Day 51: February 21 — Euro-obsessed

I'm completely obsessed with the trip Cindy and I are taking to Europe in October. We've officiallly booked the cruise, and today I spent way more time than I should have hunting down every book at the library that could possibly teach me about Italy, Slovania and Croatia before we board the boat.

More than anything, I think I'm excited to eat in all these places! I mean, really, Italian food for a bunch of days. Yes, please! And if Croatia has weird food, good thing I have a backup of an entire cruise ship full of tasty delights.

Day 20: January 20: Yahtzee!

Michelle and Peter on vacation means lots of eating, drinking and silliness. Tonight that meant crab, St. Supery Sauvignon blanc and yahtzee.

After scratching his Yahtzee option several times, then actually rolling a five of a kind, Peter actually won the points legitimately.

Meanwhile... The crab before... And after. Thank you mister crab. You were delish! And thank you kind fishmonger for cleaning out all the crab "yuckies."

Posted thanks to the seafoam inn wifi. Thank goodness for technology.

Day 19: January 19

Sometimes the greatest days are spent listening to the ocean, watching the waves and snuggling up with a game of yatzee (which I lost) and a cozy fire.

Day 13: January 13 -- my next baby shower gift

Because nothing says "baby" like tiny guns. Guns loaded with candy, yes, but guns all the same.

Just a typical thing you'd pick up at a gas station along highway 5:-)

Day 11: January 11-- 1-1-11... Lucky day?

Our road trip to yucca valley for grandpas funeral.

Hailey slept on Kyle more than on her bed.

Grapevine was beautiful.

Catching some air!

Peter literally couldn't stop laughing at all the dirt roads to get to to my parents' house.

The crazy Nebraska ladies!!
